Salman Khan VEER goes jockeying, wins trophy at Mahalakshmi racecourse!!

Salman Khan, the muscle man of bollywood who plays a Pindari warrior in Anil Sharma’s upcoming flick ‘Veer’ opposite sizzling hot Zarine Khan, displayed his horse riding skills by defeating six top jockeys in a race organized at Mahalakshmi Racecourse.

To the cheering crowed of his innumerable fans, who had gathered to witness the event, Sallubhai never gave any chance to other jockeys to lead him and continued to be far ahead of them all till the end. He was provided with a winner trophy by the organizers of the event and felicitated on the occasion. Sallubhai, who is reputed to have a heart of gold, later clarified that it was not a fake race and he had indeed put in his best to win the race.

The race had been organized by the Mahalakshmi racecourse officials in an effort to popularize the expensive and adventurous game among the public. The makers of Salman Khan ‘Veer’ also used the occasion to publicize their upcoming flick.

Sources close to Salman Khan say that as the film involved a lot of action scenes, requiring macho Khan to ride horses, he had trained himself very effectively. In fact, Salman Khan had to shoot war sequences along with thousands of horses, hundreds of elephants and camels, and so it made him quite comfortable and apt at handling horses.

A train robbery sequence in the film was especially difficult to shoot but Salman Khan handled it all with a professional aptitude. In fact, he had grown very fond of a mare ‘Lakshmi’, which was being used by him for the shooting purposes. So, racing at Mahalakshmi Racecourse was not much of a problem for him.

‘Veer’ revolves around the quest for social and political freedom of Pindari tribe as represented by Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Mithun Chakravorthy. The story is set in British India, and these bold people fight against the most powerful empire of the time to get freedom.

The film also has Zarine Khan, whose face is much similar to Salman Khan’s girlfriend Katrina Kaif, playing a Rajput Princess. Miss UK Lisa Lazarus also enacts an important segment in the film. Jackie Shroff also features in the film, which is being produced by Vijay Galani.

The film is due for worldwide release on January 22.
